Privacy Policy

Zeriq Inc. ("Zeriq", "we", "us") operates the Zeriq platform, including the web app at zeriq.dev, the iOS app, and the Android app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2.1 Account information

When you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub username, display name, email address, and profile avatar via OAuth. We store this in Firebase Authentication and Firestore to identify your account.

2.2 Usage and billing data

We record your monthly AI token usage and estimated cost in Firestore (keyed by user ID and month) to enforce plan limits and display usage statistics. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number or full payment details — Stripe handles all payment data under its own privacy policy.

2.3 Code and editor content

Files and code you work with are stored in your browser's IndexedDB (LightningFS) on your device. We do not upload your code to our servers. When you submit a task or chat message, the relevant file content you select is sent directly to the AI provider (via OpenRouter) to fulfil your request. We do not retain a copy of that content on our servers after the request completes.

2.4 AI conversations

Chat history is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. Messages are not stored on our servers. When you send a message, it is transmitted to the AI provider (OpenRouter and the underlying model provider) and the response is returned to you. Message content may be processed by AI providers in accordance with their policies.

2.5 Device and analytics data

We may collect basic, non-personally identifiable analytics (e.g., feature usage, error rates) to improve the Service. We do not sell or share this data with advertisers.

• To authenticate you and maintain your account
• To enforce plan limits and display your usage statistics
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To route AI requests to the appropriate model on your behalf
• To provide customer support when you contact us
• To improve the Service through aggregate, anonymised analytics
• To send transactional emails (e.g., subscription receipts, plan changes) — no marketing emails without consent

Zeriq integrates with the following third-party services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
• Usage/token data: Retained in Firestore for 13 months for billing reconciliation, then deleted.
• Code and chat history: Stored on your device only. Cleared when you delete your account, clear browser data, or uninstall the app.
• Payment records: Retained by Stripe per their data retention policy (typically 7 years for financial records).

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS in transit, Firebase security rules for Firestore access control, and server-side Firebase Admin SDK authentication for all API endpoints. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Zeriq is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us at support@zeriq.dev.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, or email us to request deletion.
• Portability: Request an export of your account data by emailing us.
• Opt-out of analytics: Contact us to opt out of non-essential analytics.
• CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information. California residents may request disclosure of data shared with third parties.
• GDPR (EEA/UK): You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

The Zeriq iOS app is available on the Apple App Store. In accordance with Apple's requirements:

• Data used to track you: None. We do not use your data to track you across apps or websites for advertising.
• Data linked to you: Contact info (email), identifiers (user ID), usage data (token counts).
• Data not linked to you: Crash data and diagnostics (if applicable) collected anonymously.
• Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account within the app, or by emailing support@zeriq.dev. Account deletion is permanent and processed within 30 days.

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements:

• Data collected: Email address, user ID, app interactions (token usage).
• Data shared: Email and subscription status shared with Stripe; prompt content shared with OpenRouter for AI processing.
• Data encryption: All data is encrypted in transit via TLS.
• Data deletion: You can request deletion of your data at any time via Settings → Account or by emailing us.
• Data use: Data is used solely to operate the Service. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
